Join fellow Unitarian Universalists for an all-inclusive vacation for a week in July! We are one of the founding congregations for this brand new community-building program for Unitarian Universalist congregations of Southeastern Massachusetts.
The program is called “Building Bridges.” It will focus on building relationships between our congregations and building UU identity. It is being coordinated by the Rev. Christana Wille McKnight, the minister at First Parish in Taunton, and Rev. Sarah will be serving as “Minister of the Week” for the program!
The first few days, there will be programming in the morning and unstructured afternoons, and then the rest of the week will be completely open for our amusement and relaxation! The program is the same week as the religious education/faith development programs; this week is very intergenerational and planned to be child- and family-friendly. Star Island is delighted that we are hosting this program, and so they are offering a steep discount; anyone who has never been to Star Island is eligible for a 30% discount for a 3-night visit, and 50% discount for a 7-night visit!

First Parish is proud to be hosting Girl Scout Sunday, welcoming all the Stoughton Girl Scouts to join us and learn more about religion and Unitarian Universalism. Girl Scout Sunday and Girl Scout Sabbath give girls an opportunity to attend their place of worship and be recognized as a Girl Scout. Girl Scout Sunday is held the week before March 12, the birthday of Girl Scouting. All are welcome, and members and friends of First Parish are encouraged to save the date to make sure we offer a warm welcome to the Girl Scouts, their troop leaders, and their parents and family.
Don’t forget to Save the Date for the next Five Points Cluster social event! This social event will be Saturday, March 2, hosted by First Parish UU in Canton. Stay tuned for further details!
Our next Five Points Cluster collective worship service will be held on Sunday, February 17, at the Unitarian Church of Sharon. If you are interested in attending and would like to carpool, contact the office and we will try to arrange a ride.
Come one, come all, to our Annual Chocolate Auction on Sunday, February 10,
in Fellowship Hall, following morning worship.
Please bring your favorite chocolate treats, and we will auction them off to the highest bidder.
This is a fun, laughter-filled event that has been happening at our church for over 20 years. Please show your support and help us with this fundraising effort.
If you should have any questions about this event, please see a member of the Finance Committee.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Saturday, February 9, is Stoughton's day to volunteer at the Community Closet at the Universalist Unitarian Church of Brockton, 325 West Elm Street, Brockton!
There is a sign-up sheet downstairs at church. We need volunteers to help from 9:15-noon, and from noon-1:15. Debbie Allen will be there to show folks how the Closet is organized, and several other members of the core team will be there, too, in case you need extra information as the day moves along.
There are several jobs available: 1) welcoming clients as they arrive, giving out bags, and keeping track of the numbers; 2) moving around the showroom, helping clients find what they're looking for or showing them how the clothing is organized so they can find their own way; and 3) bringing clothes from the storeroom to the showroom if it looks like more is needed (as decided by a core team person). You won't be stuck doing just one thing -- we often switch places with one another.
SIGN UP NOW! Bring water and a snack, wear comfortable shoes, and prepare to have fun! If you would like more information or have questions, please contact Debbie Allen at 508-574-2220.
You are invited to join the Stoughton Clergy Association for our annual program to honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Junior. The program will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, at Trinity Episcopal Church of Stoughton, 414 Sumner Street, Stoughton. After the worship/program, there will be Community Service volunteer activities at different locations in Stoughton.
