On the second Saturday, November 11 at 5:00 pm the Welcoming Congregation Committee is asking you to join us on a journey to discover the modern-day dynamics of gender.
We will be showing Gender Revolution: A Journey with Katie Couric, a 1 ½ hour long special created with the National Geographic Channel to help us understand the meaning of gender. To educate ourselves, Gender Revolution will provide us with a wealth of facts, images, and ideas about gender and how it is expressed. The Welcoming Congregation Committee will provide a safe place in our community in which to share information, thoughts, and concern about this increasingly frequent topic in our personal, work, and political lives.
We ask you to come at 5:00 p.m. and we will get the program started right away. We do plan to have activities for the younger children. There will be an intermission about halfway through the show, where we can take a break and have some pizza and conversation: 30 minutes or so. We will then play the second half with discussion time following. Here is the website for you to peruse in your own time: http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/gender-revolution-a-journey-with-katie-couric/
Please RSVP and/or ask questions to either co-chair Lynn (LHover@draperknitting.com) or Jean (firstname.lastname@example.org). We look forward to seeing you there and please bring your friends that are interested!
